Kayden Instruments designs, develops, manufactures and markets process control instrumentation to the four corners of the world. Solutions for flow, level, interface and temperature applications are our specialty. Kayden serves the oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, pipeline, manufacturing, power generation, utilities, transportation, engineering, forestry, automotive, plastics, textiles, agriculture, mining, water & wastewater, and pollution control industries. To meet the instrumentation needs of this diverse, global customer base, Kayden has developed a full range of thermal dispersion sensing products.
The CLASSIC flow and level switches offer state-of-the-art electronics which include RS-485 remote communications, while the BASIC addresses the need for a simple, intelligent and robust low-cost switch for O.E.M.s and facilities where remote communications are not required.
Kayden Basic 400+
Kayden Classic 800
Kayden 850
Flow, Level & Interface Switches
The Basic+ Series for liquids, gases, air and slurries.
Features include: Universal Power Input (12-24 VDC; 115-230 VAC), Bypass Delay Timer for pump start-up, Adjustable Heater Power, and RS-485 Remote Communications providing for integration with centralized control systems. Free Remote Control & Monitoring (RCM) Software.
The Basic+ offers the latest technology in thermal flow and level monitoring in a compact and user-friendly design.
The CLASSIC is the only thermal switch on the market that is capable of operating as a flow switch, level switch or interface switch while simultaneously offering temperature switch capability. The microprocessor design allows for easy setup via the front panel or remotely with our RCM software.
The CLASSIC 850 and BASIC 450 series provide the same features and dependability as the CLASSIC 800 and BASIC 400 series in a configuration for non-hazardous areas. The 850 and 450 series provide the additional features of DIN rail mounting for electronics modules and multiple electronics mounting in a common enclosure. These thermal switches can also be used as flow switches, level switches, or interface switches.
The CLASSIC 800 Series wins Flow Control Magazine Innovation Awards. Thanks to it's long list of refined features, the CLASSIC performs well in flow, level, interface, and temperature applications with air, gases, liquids, and slurries. Thanks to all who voted.
Kayden Instruments manufactures an innovative line of Thermal Switches for use in flow, level and interface applications. We provide thermal flow switches, level switches and interface switches to many industries around the world. Our thermal products are operating in Oil and Gas, Water and Wastewater, and Chemical.
Kayden switches are unique. Kayden switches use state-of-the-art microprocessor-controlled electronics. Highly accurate and reliable, Kayden switches include built-in diagnostics and Modbus communications capabilities. From simple on/off applications to complex control strategies, Kayden products provide solutions.
Both our CLASSIC and Basic+ models can be used as either a flow switch, level switch or interface switch. There is no need to specify the switch function at time of order. The CLASSIC or Basic+ can be installed as a flow switch today and configured by the customer to be a level controller tomorrow. The CLASSIC and Basic+ models can be used in air, gases, liquids or slurries. With an array of sensor sizes, materials and configurations available including insertion and in-line, threaded or flanged and retractable packing gland styles, a CLASSIC or Basic+ model will fit your application.
The Kayden line of products is based on the thermal dispersion principle of operation. Though often referred to as a thermal dispersion flow switch, thermal flow switch, liquid flow switch or Modbus flow switch our products can also be used in level and interface applications. Some level applications are: level controller, tank level, high level alarm, low level alarm, wet/dry alarm and various other applications involving flow alarms. Another common application is interface control, especially those requiring an oil water interface switch. Kayden switches are also commonly used in pump protection, seal leak detection, and flow/no flow applications.
